Dog coffee date idea! ☕

Here’s an idea that’s very simple, a little silly and yet super fun — coffee date with your pup(s)!

If you’re like me and a little bit of a crazy dogmom who enjoys including her dog in as many things as possible, you’ve probably already done this unintentionally. Maybe you’ve picked up a coffee and pup cup on the way home from the dog park and watched your furry friend scarf theirs down quickly before you even take a sip of your coffee. Well, even if you have, you can spice it up a bit!

But believe it or not, some dogmoms out there are not even aware of puppuccinos or pup cups aka crack for dogs. Obviously, whipped cream is not super healthy for your dog and some dogs are not good with diary products… but if you’re cleared by your vet and would like to treat your dog every once in a while to a pup cup – it is so fun to watch them enjoy every drop! They are available for free at Starbucks and most places that serve coffee.

So this idea is a little more intentional. It might also be a good training session if you have a dog with a wild side that is learning impulse control.

Either way – you may think it’s silly but Ella and I had fun. And we got some memorable videos and photos out of it that I’ll treasure forever!

So for those who are interested in trying it at home… this is what I did to have a coffee date with Ella:

  1. Wore matching pink heart-shaped sunglasses because why not?
  2. Drank out of matching double wall espresso cups because they’re small (good size for puppuccinos – don’t want to give your pup too much whipped cream) and because it’s fun to match – hence the sunglasses!
  3. Made a cappuccino for me and got out the Reddi Wip for Ella
  4. Took photos and video to document the moment and then cheers!
  5. I held her cup while she licked her whipped cream and I sipped on my coffee.

Wishing you and your pup(s) a wonderful coffee date! Cheers! ✨

Just a little friendly reminder — make sure to brush your dog’s teeth – especially after sugary treats like pup cups! 😁 Gotta take care of those pearly whites! 😉
